Getting drunk on Black Lace and Red Wine

Oh hey, looks like I forgot to mention that I cranked out another shoot in late January.. It was a very productive week, as I got this out pretty soon after “Music Box Ballerina”

I’m not quite sure what to say about this outfit. It’s really not much of a concept,  just a  lace-themed lingerie corset outfit.  The corset itself is actually the same exact corset as what I was wearing in this shoot, over a decade ago..

What happened to the shiny vinyl/PVC material? Well, it turns out it has a distinct shelf life.  After 5 or 6 years, it seems like some kinds of PVC cloth will just turn to goo and flake off.  It hasn’t happened with every outfit (the old “Pink Polka Dot” outfit is still pretty intact), but some like this one, and “Bubblegum Broadway”, have just come completely apart.

Which sucks because as a fetish fashion designer, it would be nice to know who the manufacturer of the cloth is, so one could figure out which company’s product would stand up for decades, and which ones won’t.  As one would imagine, I have yards upon yards of stockpiled fabric, and I even had to chuck some old PVC that was coming apart.  And I’ve even bought new material that was suitable for nothing  but a temporary backdrop at best.

So this old corset, which was like maybe the 3rd or 4th one I made (it dates back to the same time as the red candystripe outfit), was basically turning from a black shiny corset to a plain black cotton corset.  I removed the lace-up section to the front and added a few lace-covered satin pieces and hey, look, it’s a new outfit!

So that’s all I can pretty much say about that, (which is likely more than you really wanted to know about that, but hey, it’s my blog and you can expect me to talk at length about this sort of thing).
