Catching up with me – Montreal Fetish Weekend 2011

(Note:  This blog post was written way back in September 2011. For some reason it went unplublished until now)

So hey.. Yes.. I’m alive. I just have been so swamped by projects and stuff that I haven’t had the time to properly publicize exactly What The Hell I’ve Been Up To…

So. I guess it’s best to start back to earlier this month, and talk about Montreal Fetish Weekend first. This was a pretty big deal for me as I was premiering my big “Music Box” burlesque/strip performance. I spent a few very harrowed days building this 4 foot by 3 foot by 3 foot box. But it had to collapse into something that would fit into a VW New Beetle. And it had to look like- well, it’s had to look like nothing specific in case Canadian customs gave me hard time. You see, you don’t really even want customs to know that you’re performing at an event, even if you’re not getting paid. They never seem to belive it. I know people have been turned away at the border for less.

So the box itself was made from masonite over a PVC pip frame. and made to fit together like Tinkertoys.

Thankfully the customs guys didn’t ask many questions, so I got into Montreal with no problem. I came in a day early just in case I did have problems – so now I had some time to kill (the performance was the following night)

So it worked out well because I was able to add details to the outside of the box that I didn’t think I had time for. Mind you, I had the staff of the hotel scratching their heads as i kept going out the front door with all these pieces of masonite, and then applying glitter to them out on the sidewalk (and I imagine that the glitter is still there..)

side pieces all painted and glittered..

the finished piece, all waiting for a ballerina to be impaled upon the pole..

(April 2012 NOTE:  So yeah, I guess I hadn’t posted this blog entry because I never followed up on the performance itself.  I did get video, but since there’s nudity, I can’t post it on youtube without making a black “censored” bar in front of my breasts.

And I guess I was a little embarassed by how the performance came out, so the video went unreleased, where it will probably stay.

However, I did do an improved version of this performance for Jaded in Lowel in March 2011.  Which also might be my next blog post, since at least the performance went better and looked good in photos.

I think we can all agree that what I really need is a PR person. I’m VERY busy doing LOTS of amazing things, so much that I hardly have time to report on such things before I get involved in my next project.

Then everyone seems to think that I’m not doing anything.  I’m just being quiet about it, that’s basically it.
