April Updates!

So I must confess that the first half of April was sort of a mess.  I did spend quite a bit of time on preparing for a performance, and then I went through a special kind of hell on tax day when I found out I was a victim of debit card fraud!  Everything worked out fine in the end with my bank, but for a week or so my bank account was deeply in the red, because of what some asshole did.

So it is with much happiness that I can say that I have gotten back to work on many things, including a brand new video update featuring videos of “Tara Overboard” and “National Pornographic”.  And there is also a video forthcoming of “Sweet Lolita” that’s in the can that I still have to edit.

And though I have been shooting in HD for a few years now, I have been editing in standard definition for various reasons (partially if your project is released on DVD).  But I am able to capture and edit in HD.  I just have to get myself a bit up to speed on the right codecs and compression settings and all sorts of stuff, which is precisely not the kind of stuff you want to monkey with halfway through a project

But when high definition comes, it’s very likely that I will make HD versions of many of the existing scenes on my website – but not by way of simply “blowing up” standard-def footage.   I will re-capture all needed footage in HD and find a way to swap them without starting from scratch, but I haven’t quite figured out the proper way to do that yet in Final Cut Pro.  It seems like when I capture HDV (Sony), the timecode is ignored.  Anyway, I’ll figure it out.

This also means that there is also a very likely chance that I will be re-releasing a lot of older photo shoots to today’s standards.   Anything I’ve shot since mid-2003 was done on a 4 megapixel or higher camera, so the information is there in the raw pix.  Ten years ago making the final pictures 600 x 900 pixels seemed like generous dimensions during a time when I had to worry about bandwidth and oh my god, that JPG is 150k, it’s HUGE.   Nowadays I make the finals roughly 1300 x 1800 pixels, which seems to work well for large screens.

As you can imagine, re-processing and editing ALL my old photo shoots from 2003 to about 2009 is a huge project, so when I do it,  I’ll probably pick the higher quality and more iconic shoots over some of the throwaways (“Mustang Tara”, I’m pointing at you…).

But regardless, I’m still making new stuff, and there’s a new shoot on the way!  And it was sorta an “easy” one.  I need to just bang out some easy shoots here and there, and in this case it was an old black latex catsuit I haven’t used for years, coupled with my uber-blonde bimbo look and my favorite glasses that don’t have real lenses in them (not yet at least).

Oh the things I do to my ass in the name of porn.

I mean, whoa, the things I do to my ass…

Again and again and again.. Oh yes.  Resulting in this.

But hey, they’re not all ass shots.  This shoot features a very teased and hair-sprayed blonde hairstyle, which might be straight out of a Lita Ford video, though at first I was attempting a “rockabilly” look with the bangs.  I’m not sure what it is, but I think I like it.

So this shoot will be called something like “Latex Bimbo”, or “Latex Bimbette” or “Inflatable Bimbo” or something.  Right now I don’t even have an idea how many are in the set, but I should guess the final tally will be about 150.

Which will be up on my site in a few days, if my eyeballs can take the marathon picture processing sessions I put myself through!
