“Aviatrix” is coming! “Aviatrix” is coming! “Aviatrix” is coming!!!!

Probably the first thing I should mention is that on June 30, my dad passed away. I choose to at this moment be rather private about it, and I ask that people keep their condolences out of the public arena. We had a complicated relationship, which had pretty much little to do with me being trans and him being legitimately a hoarder, and also what most people would think is like 2 generations away (he was like 50 when he became a father). So all my life he was very elderly and over the last 10 years been slowly declining with senile dementia and Alzheimers, so to me he had almost died years ago.

It really had (and still has) cast a large shadow over my life for many years, and to go through the last days, I’ve felt relief, grief, euphoria, determination, and then crippling indecision about what I was going to do next.

I will likely speak about my growing up and what my family meant (and did) to me at a later date. The strange thing I did gain from all this experience is weird sort of clarity about certain facets of my life, and I’ve been slowly organizing my thoughts into what will eventually be my memoir. And I’ll talk about that later when I delve head first into that project.

But, if you can remember, last month I was all excited about being back on a roll. Well.. what can we say, a death in the family sorta takes priority. So various ideas for a July 4th shoot didn’t happen then as planned. The primary patriotic concept was going to be this shoot called “The Avatrix”.

Well the first few weeks of July I just really couldn’t get it together to finish the set and back into the right mindset for modelling, so instead I tweaked the introduction pages for my site. Which works well as I wanted to re-brand myself anyway.

So, what happened to “Aviatrix”? Well it just got pushed back as I got my shit back together. As some might recall, “Aviatrix” is the outfit I made for my performance in Jamacia for Miss Fetish Queen of the Universe last September, and it was seeming like it was forever going to be one of those patented Tara Emory Unfinished Projects. Because I made an awesom outfit, whatever the heck am I going to shoot in front of?

Why, a WWII bomber, of course!!

And the set for this, I do admit, is rather insane. You see, I’m building this huge, faux fighter/bomber (I’m not sure what it is, let’s just call it a “fomber” or a “bighter”), complete with sexy pin-up nose cone art to boot. It’s like taking up the whole big shooting bay in my studio, and done in a half-relief “two and a half dimensions” technique.

My aeroplane in prgress, sometime late last month.

Hard to believe I had bigger plans about what it was going to be like, with a wing that would be sturdy enough to sit on, but it turns out the wing is just styrofoam over a couple of barely-screwed-into-the-wall 2×4’s. However, the effect still works, for crying out loud, I just need to finish this thing and move on with the next project, right?

There's going to be like some sort of plexiglassed gunner turret thingy in the front. And yes, I'm totally aware it's a made up plane. I called it a "BS-17".

Why did I go with camo? Well, from my research they used a paint scheme like this in the European theatre, as opposed to the Pacific war in which the planes were mostly silver. Because the outfit has a lot of brown, it fit in better with this scheme.

Of course, you may be thinking that at this point it might’ve been easier to have just found a real WW2 bomber and shot in front of it, which would might have worked I what I was doing wasn’t technically porn, and furthermore had I not had the genius idea of (you guess it, MORE work!) transsexual themed pin-up nose cone art! Here’s the sketch.

She's packing quite a fat one!!

I will keep you all posted on the progress of the nose cone art, as I haven’t quite worked out how I’m going to transfer my sketch to panel but I’m probably going to blow it up huge and print it out, then copy it over and paint it. The nice thing is that I’ve planned things so that when the set is broken down and turned back into pieces of styrofoam and random car wheels and 2×4’s, I’ll keep the panel as wall art.

As this shoot is going to be the “big one” of the month, I will probably tidy up a tasty little nook in my wonderfully furnished house and bang out a lingerie shoot or something “easy” at the same time. That’s generally how I do things. One over the top shoot with a set that takes weeks or months (off and on) to build, and something comparitively effortless, while I’m still in perfect makeup and all that.

So bear with me a little longer, folks. I did have to take some time off (understandably), but I’m by no means resting on my laurels.
